About the author

Adrian Tkacz, MD, MSc Computer Science

I am a senior technology leader and software engineer with more than 20 years of experience spanning software engineering, cloud and data platforms, healthcare IT, bioinformatics and applied data analysis. Earlier in my career, I worked as a bioinformatics researcher and programmer, applying machine learning and statistical methods to biomedical data and co-authoring scientific publications.

I have a background in both medicine and computer science. My current independent work under BioMedical-IT focuses on medical imaging, quantitative imaging, radiomics, research-data workflows and technically rigorous evaluation of AI-enabled healthcare systems.

Imaging Evidence Path grew out of a practical need: I wanted a coherent route from CT and DICOM fundamentals through quantitative imaging and radiomics to statistical validation, clinical evidence, imaging informatics and deployment. The material is written for technically experienced readers and favors primary literature, reproducible examples, explicit limitations and evidence over slogans.

TRACE-CT is one of the practical research projects that feeds lessons back into this guide.

Professionally, I lead engineering delivery for managed cloud and data-platform services. BioMedical-IT, Imaging Evidence Path and TRACE-CT are independent work.

Questions, corrections, research discussions and relevant collaboration enquiries are welcome.
